Huge America

What a small country Japan is! I have known Japan is small and America is huge. In this trip, I really thought about it because of the Grand Canyon and the distance. I have never seen such a huge, deep and magnificent cliff. There was only the Grand Canyon as far as I could see. I wondered about the place where poeple couldn't go to. So I really envied the birds. They can fly everywhere without everything that the human beings need to bring. I wasn't bored of gazing at the Grand Canyon. Someday I wish to come back and hike the Bright Angel Trail. This trail will take for a long time. According to the sign, there are a few people who try to go back and forth in a day and die every year, so the hikers must prepare well. At first I didn't believe it, but fortunately, I saw the hikers who just came back to the start. Their backpacks were huge and their clothes were sandy so I thought what the sign said was right and I have to prepare well.

The distance also surprised me. It was so long! It took 5 hours from here to Seattle even in the same state in the last semester. I wondered how many hours will take to drive 2 states. I stopped and visited many places so I didn't feel it had taken for a long time but I think the total hours are almost 10 hours. I can't believe it! During this trip, I saw many straight roads. For me the long straight road is a symbol of a big country because if there isn't a huge land, people can't make the long straight roads. I haven't seen it in Japan. I was excited to have seen it. Through this trip I could realize America is big again and have another dream which is to go to the rest of the states. I don't know how many years take, but someday I want to overcome this big continent and feel the differences!
