Religion

When I'm in the U.S., I always learn about religion. When I was in Japan, I've never thought about religion, so I was really surprised that Americans go to churches regularly. Some people in Japan go to the church on Sunday, but there are a few churches I think. Most Japanese people believe in Buddhism, but they don't believe it so much. I'm also Buddhist, but actually , I don't know about Buddha. I think when I'm dead, my ceremony will be Buddhist type, but I think I belong to nonreligious, so I didn't know what religion is before I came here.

However, when I was in high school, I was staying with my host family. They believe in Mormonism, so they woke up at 5:00 a.m. and went to the church every morning! I didn't know they believe in Mormonism, so I brought the T-shirt that showed beer design. Their boys were excited, but my host mother said to me "we believe in Mormonism, so we can't drink beer." with her serious face. What a thoughtless souvenir I brought! I can understand now, but I couldn't recognize that time because I had never seen people who believe in Mormonism in Japan. I think Americans came from various countries, but Japan is an island country so there's little influence. I'm glad that I experienced about religion that I can't experience if I didn't come to the U.S.!
