Adoption
Today I talked about adoption in my class. Actually, my friend and I decided the topic and gave it to my classmates before. I thought perhaps it would be a serious conversation class because the topic, adoption, is a real system. Moreover many Japanese don't know the rules of adoption, I think. Even we don't have much interest, so the existence was far from us before our discussion. But the distance between adoption and us became shorter than ever. Also, our knowledge and interest were much improved. The discussion was excellent! We talked about the comparison between American adoption and Japanese mainly, every classmate said their opinions strongly and discussed with each other. Of course, I joined it, but I was very glad to hear the opinions and feel their passion! At that time, we noticed that most of us didn't have an interest in adoption, nor caring about it, so we should care about it and understand the system. In Japan, it's very difficult for Japanese to receive adopted children from an another country. If the children are Japanese, the family who receive them would hide the truth and live with neighbors. There are many Japanese in Japan, we think it's also one of the reasons not to receive them easily, so the children who come from an another country will stand out. Therefore, many Japanese don't like it. But now, the tendency will be a little bit weaker then ever like America. If our generation has positive thinking, the society would be changed.
