Stellar Steptoe

Our thanks to Bill and Vic for helping the bus navigate around the butte. Even in the small van, the road felt awfully narrow and steep. Many of the students tried their best to out-jump each other, but I give the prize to Kuroda-san for her height and sheer enthusiasm.

We had a wonderful view from the top of Steptoe Butte on the way to Washington State University. Although the horizon was a little hazy due to the smoke from the burning wheat fields, many of the students enjoyed the thrill of such a high place surrounded by low farmland. We felt the need to JUMP!
